About

I help people understand what to do next.

I’m Phelim Jiang. My work sits where training, technology and people systems meet — and, outside of that, in helping small businesses and professionals build a clearer online presence.

The thread

From a family business to better systems

A small business at the center

I grew up in a first-generation immigrant family, and my family’s restaurant is part of my earliest memories. Seeing a small business up close made the effort behind serving people feel real — and it is the reason I still want to help owners find clearer structure and a stronger online presence.

Teaching: understanding is something a learner shows

I earned a B.S. in Elementary Education from the University of Oklahoma and taught in a public school classroom, designing instruction, materials and assessments for learners with different needs. Teaching taught me to start with a concrete goal, show one good example, let people try and give feedback that explains what to do differently.

Frontline healthcare: communication under pressure

As a nurse technician in hospital settings, I worked with patients and families in high-pressure moments. It sharpened how I explain things: accurately, calmly and in a way that fits the person in front of me.

Training, technology and People & Culture

Today I work in People & Culture, leading onboarding, training, development and engagement, and helping teams adopt HR and business technology. I look for process gaps and build practical fixes with documentation, automation and employee feedback.

Websites and systems for small businesses

Alongside that work, I design and build websites for small businesses and professionals — the same instinct as the restaurant, applied online: make it easy for a customer to find what they need and take the next step.

How I work

A few habits I bring to every project

Start with the real task

Map what actually happens today, then design around the job people need to get done.

Make the next step obvious

Clear owners, visible status and plain language beat another feature.

Practice, then feedback

People learn a system by using it for a real purpose, with feedback that explains why.

Keep it maintainable

The best setup is one the owner can actually keep running after launch.
